nextDash v1.26.0 gives questions, notices and tips one place to wait, a notifications bell in the navigation bar. It adds a large clock with a greeting by name, a Clock widget with a face, AdGuard Home and Pi-hole widgets, and a much lighter start.
Every theme in nextDash now has a backdrop drawn for it: 266 recipes in the theme's own colours, and a picker to browse them. The release also adds Tabs, Clock and Countdown widgets, a calculator in search and a list of what you changed from the defaults.
v1.22.0 redraws the dashboard: a surface for every material, backdrops chosen per theme and Aurora Glass as the default. The cheat sheet can be searched, and the bookmark form shows a live preview.
A new default theme and 24 colour-burst themes, more control over how a theme is drawn, a Server tab in Statistics, and a rebuilt nextdash.cc with its own docs.
Categories, widgets and collections can be moved anywhere on the dashboard — wide, with the keyboard, or to another page, with Undo. Plus one grouped categories table, Reset all in the look studio, and a roomier What's new.
A theme in nextDash was thirteen colours. Nothing in it said whether those colours belonged on lacquer, on paper or on a terminal, so 218 of the 242 built-in themes were drawn…
The largest release so far, and most of it answers one question: where does a thing live. The header is one row, the buttons that floated over the grid have somewhere to stand, config opens on tiles, the bookmark list is a workbench, and a fresh install starts on a new look - with a one-minute tour for everyone who already knew where things were.
