nextDash v1.22.3 — A Quick start that asks first, tours and offers

· 1 min read

nextDash v1.22.3 is about the first start. A new install now asks before it changes anything, the quieter features get tours and short offers, and privacy-friendly analytics sends less.

A Quick start that asks first

The guide opens as Welcome to nextDash. First you choose Keep these example links or Start with an empty page. Only then can you add a ready-made page (Homelab, Media server or Developer), which lands beside the examples or on the emptied main page.

The checklist has ten steps, three at a time. File imports gain a third destination: On a new page.

Tours and tips

  • A keyboard tour in four steps. Start it from the search panel or with :tour keyboard.
  • Tours for Config → Monitoring and Config → Unraid, and a mouse step in the dashboard tour.
  • Tips can come weekly, and first-visit tours have a switch in Config → Behavior → Onboarding.

Four short offers

Cards now ask first: check container images for updates, re-check old links, the browser extension, and what changed after an update. Each has its own switch.

Analytics and fixes

With Privacy-friendly analytics on, the address you open nextDash on is replaced by one word (lan, domain or localhost). Settings go out only when they change, not on every page load. With analytics off, nothing is sent.

Other fixes: the Config title no longer runs into its buttons, Config → Monitoring fits a phone, and golang.org/x/net is updated to v0.62.0 for GO-2026-6860, reachable through bookmark import.

Upgrading

docker pull ghcr.io/jordibrouwer/nextdash:latest
# or
docker pull foobar1452/nextdash:latest

Unraid users update the container from the Docker tab. Full notes are in the GitHub Release.
